Emperors close out regular season with rout over Hanford West

The Dinuba High football team will get a chance to play another game.
The No. 13 Emperors will face No. 4 Sanger tomorrow night in the opening round of the Central Section Division II playoffs.
Dinuba put up 51 points against Hanford West in their regular season finale. The Huskies closed out the year with a 1-9 record.
Senior Quarterback Josh Magaña went 6 of 12 for 136 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 47 yards on four carries.
The game’s leading ball carrier for DHS was junior Jacob Galvan who had four carries for 48 yards. A trio of backs, R.J. Salas, Jose Breceda, and Samuel Martinez, each scored a TD.
Senior wide receivers Cameron Amador and Samuel Martinez each hauled in a pass for a score.
Evan Garza anchored the defense with seven total tackles while Thomas Serna had six tackles. Dario Sanchez ended the game with five tackles and James Southern recorded an interception.
Kicker Cesar Lopez converted all six of his PAT’s.
The Emperor’s overall record for the season received a boost after Edison High was forced to forfeit most of its games for allegedly playing ineligible players. Dinuba finished 5-5.
